Concept Illustration

Here's a .gif step-by-step process of an illustration I did for my game team. It as really fun doing this piece, I got lots of feedback and learned a ton during the whole thing.

Some props I did for my game. They're kinda fun to do, but damn, the designs take quite a while to come up with...

ZBrush class illustration update

I added more details to the monster. I am still not completely satisfied with it (especially the wings) and I will put more work into this piece during the weekend.

Vapor Hooligans

I have finally finished creating the model sheets for my team, the Vapor Hooligans. One is the enemy character, which is a goblin. The other one will be the main character, the Mage.

I designed the goblin from start to finish.
First, I started sketching some small goblin designs, around 2"x3" ish.

They all didn't really work out, so I decided to redo everything again, but this time I started with silhouettes.

I picked what was most interesting and sketched what's inside the silhouette.

They were going in the right direction, but they looked like they're some kind of a boss character - the goblins are just minions. To resolve this, I changed the proportion to make it shorter and I removed the flesh jaw and replaced the whole thing with a metal mask. I went more mechanical to give a more distinct look compared to the humans.

I did some cleanings and colored it.

Here's the mage character. The original design was made by my team member. It went through several iterations before we all agreed to proceed with this design.

My job was to clean the whole thing, upgrade the look, and then colorize it.

As you can see, blue is the main color for the mage, some orange and browns to complement it. Her color scheme is the opposite of the colors of the goblin, which is reddish green and dark rusty red metal textures. The blue will also help pop the character from the (planned) background because the environment will be dominated with muted brownish colors.
